Overview

Kate Geyer focuses her practice on patent litigation matters in federal district courts and the International Trade Commission, as well as post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. She also counsel clients in pre-litigation disputes. She represents a broad range of clients – from medical device and pharmaceutical companies to consumer goods and retailers.

Ms. Geyer has experience in many aspects of litigation, including infringement and validity analyses, motion practice, claim construction, discovery, depositions, expert discovery, and pre-trial proceedings.

Ms. Geyer is the season two co-host of Sidebars, a podcast featuring leading women and other underrepresented groups in the patent bar.

While attending law school, Ms. Geyer worked as a summer associate with the firm in 2018. She served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Kara Stoll in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and a law clerk in the Office of Unfair Import Investigations at the International Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. Ms. Geyer was a research assistant to Professor F. Scott Kieff and Articles Editor for the George Washington Law Review. Ms. Geyer won the 2018-2019 AIPLA Giles S. Rich IP Moot Court Competition.

Prior to launching her legal career, Ms. Geyer was a Business Analyst at SRA International, Inc. in Washington, D.C. where she had a number of business development, strategic planning, and implementation roles focusing on emerging technology for Department of Defense and intelligence customers.
