Insights: News American Bankruptcy Institute Names Gianfranco Finizio to Its Prestigious 2022 “40 Under 40”!
New York (October 18) – Kilpatrick Townsend Partner Gianfranco Finizio has been recognized as one the nation’s leading bankruptcy and insolvency professionals in the prestigious 2022 American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) “40 Under 40”. ABI continues its annual tradition of identifying and honoring 40 individuals under the age of 40 who demonstrate remarkable ability, leadership and achievement in the bankruptcy and insolvency community. The 2022 “40 Under 40” honorees are distinguished by professional achievements and service and are selected by a group of experienced insolvency professionals. They are a testament to the future of the insolvency profession, with exemplary accomplishments in both their careers and communities. Nominations were submitted earlier this year by the candidates themselves or by colleagues via the initiative’s website. The honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony to be held this December at the 2022 Winter Leadership Conference.
Gianfranco focuses his practice on bankruptcy and insolvency matters. He has experience representing, among other parties in interest, official committees of unsecured creditors, indenture trustees, debtors, litigation trustees, and trade creditors in all facets of insolvency proceedings. He has represented creditors’ committees in many high-profile chapter 11 cases, including iconic fitness brand GGI Holdings, LLC (Gold’s Gym), diagnostic health services provider Trident Holding Company, LLC, and airline parts manufacturer TECT Aerospace. Gianfranco has also represented indenture trustees in several prominent chapter 11 cases, including Washington Prime Group and Toys “R” Us.
Gianfranco was listed in the 2021 and 2022 editions of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business for Bankruptcy/Restructuring and recognized as a New York “Rising Star” for the past eight years for Business Bankruptcy by Super Lawyers magazine.
Gianfranco is a sought-after thought leader writing articles for industry publications, participating on panels for CLE courses and popular industry conferences, discussing emerging issues on bankruptcy-specific podcasts, and, most recently, assisting with a renewed effort to update ABI’s Preference Handbook. His pro bono activities include working with KIND (Kids in Need of Defense) where he provides legal services regarding immigration law to children in need.
