Insights: News Three Kilpatrick Townsend Attorneys Named 2018 Rising Stars by Southern California Super Lawyers
LOS ANGELES (June 21) -- Kilpatrick Townsend announced today that three attorneys from the firm’s Los Angeles office were selected as 2018 Rising Stars by Southern California Super Lawyers. Partner Caroline “Carrie” Barbee and Senior Associate Kollin Zimmermann were named in the Intellectual Property Litigation category, while Associate Brittany Elias was recognized in the Intellectual Property category.
The Super Lawyers distinction honors attorneys who attain a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement as some of the region’s pre-eminent lawyers. Super Lawyers is a rating service of lawyers from more than 70 practice areas. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations, all of which result in a comprehensive and diverse listing of the top five percent of attorneys in each state.
- Carrie Barbee focuses her practice on all areas of intellectual property litigation and enforcement, including copyright and trademark infringement litigation, as well as registering, policing and enforcing trademarks and copyrights. She was also recognized by Super Lawyers in 2008, 2010-12, and 2014-17.
- Brittany Elias focuses her practice on trademark portfolio and conflict management. She advises on issues relating to complex international trademark clearance and prosecution, foreign and domestic disputes, brand protection and litigation matters. Ms. Elias also counsels clients on a wide range of domestic enforcement issues, including both offensive and defensive disputes, and proceedings before the TTAB. She was also recognized by Super Lawyers in 2017.
- Kollin Zimmermann focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, particularly cases involving trademark, copyright, unfair competition, false advertising, and trade secret claims, as well as related business disputes. Mr. Zimmermann has litigated cases in a broad range of industries, including apparel, consumer electronics, entertainment, and gaming. He also has substantial experience litigating matters involving e-commerce and other internet-based intellectual property issues. He also received Super Lawyers recognition in 2015 & 2017.
