Insights: News Maha Khalaj and Tajma Rahimic Join Kilpatrick Townsend’s Technology Transactions and Global Data Protection Team

ATLANTA AND WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 6) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of Maha Khalaj and Tajma Rahimic to the Technology Transactions and Global Data Protection Team.

  • Maha Khalaj joins as an associate in the firm’s Atlanta office and focuses her practice on  intellectual property/technology licensing and other complex commercial agreements. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Khalaj was an intellectual property attorney in the Atlanta, Georgia office of a national law firm, where she focused her practice on complex patent and trademark issues, including procurement, enforcement, clearance, design around options, risk management, infringement, and validity. As a registered patent attorney, she also prepared and prosecuted patent applications, both domestically and internationally, for clients in the biotechnology, medical device, and mechanical technology fields. Before attending law school, Ms. Khalaj worked at a medical device company that developed a wireless sensing and communication technology used to improve the management of severe chronic cardiovascular diseases. Ms. Khalaj earned her J.D. from Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law. She received her B.S. and M.S. in Biology from Georgia State University.
  • Tajma Rahimic joins as an associate in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Her practice concentrates on cybersecurity, privacy, and data governance. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Rahimic was an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of an international law firm, where she focused her practice on telecommunications law and counseled clients on telecommunications regulatory issues, in addition to privacy and security issues. While attending law school, Ms. Rahimic served as a public policy intern at Comcast, a government affairs legal intern at Wireless Infrastructure Association, a legal intern at the Federal Communications Commission in the Office of Commissioner Ajit Pai, a legal intern at the International Trade Administration in the Department of Commerce, and a law clerk at the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development Assistance and Training (OPDAT) in the Department of Justice. Ms. Rahimic earned her J.D., with honors, from George Washington University Law School. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, in Journalism and Comparative Literature from the University of Georgia.
