SEATTLE (June 23) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that three attorneys from the firm’s Seattle office were selected as 2016 Washington Super Lawyers. Roger Wylie was named in Intellectual Property law and Rob Roy Smith was designated in Native American Law. Dario Machleidt was recognized as a Rising Star in Intellectual Property Litigation.

The Super Lawyers distinction honors attorneys who attain a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement as some of the region’s pre-eminent lawyers. Super Lawyers is a rating service of lawyers from more than 70 practice areas. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations, all of which result in a comprehensive and diverse listing of the top five percent of attorneys in each state.

Roger Wylie serves as the Managing Partner of the firm's Seattle office, and focuses his practice on patent prosecution and counseling. He advises start-up and established corporations, venture investors and other intellectual property stakeholders with regard to all aspects of patent prosecution and acquisition, counseling, licensing and litigation. Mr. Wylie’s clients include companies developing and commercializing a broad range of technologies.

Rob Roy Smith is the co-Chair of the firm’s Native American Practice Group. He advises Indian tribal clients on all aspects of federal, state and tribal law, including natural and cultural resource protection, taxation, tribal sovereignty and gaming. Mr. Smith has successfully represented Indian tribal governments, individual Indians and tribal businesses in complex litigation before state and federal trial and appellate courts, as well as tribal courts, and has assisted Indian tribes in obtaining financing for economic development projects .

Dario Machleidt focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation. His experience includes representing clients in matters involving patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. Additionally, Mr. Machleidt has litigated patent cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
