Overview

Alice Yu is an experienced employment attorney who assists management in all areas of employment law, including claims or issues involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, class and collective actions, restrictive covenants, leaves of absence, employment agreements and policies, and employee classifications.

Ms. Yu has extensive experience representing management in all stages of litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States, including in multiple FLSA wage and hour collective actions. Ms. Yu also has experience litigating single-plaintiff claims under Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, Section 1981, and other federal and analogous state employment laws.

Ms. Yu’s practice also includes counseling and advising clients on issues regarding employment law in order to avoid litigation. Ms. Yu has regularly represented clients before the EEOC and state-equivalent commissions and has experience conducting workplace investigations regarding employee complaints of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.

Prior to rejoining the firm in 2021, Ms. Yu was Commercial Counsel at a Fortune 1000 global medical device company at its Americas headquarters. Ms. Yu began her legal career as a litigation Associate in the Boston, Massachusetts office of an international law firm where she maintained a broad practice area, including in employment, business litigation, products liability, criminal, and white collar in both state and federal courts.

While attending law school, Ms. Yu was Articles Editor of Duke Law School’s Law & Contemporary Problems and worked extensively on pro bono matters for the AIDS/HIV and Cancer Legal Project.

Ms. Yu was recognized in 2023 as one of the "Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch" for Labor and Employment Litigation by The Best Lawyers in America®.

Ms. Yu is conversant in Mandarin Chinese.
