Clark Weight is a registered patent attorney who focuses his practice on patent prosecution and counseling. His patent prosecution experience includes drafting and prosecuting medical device patents related to heart implants and methods, interventional devices and methods, Lasik devices and related eye therapy devices and methods, CPR devices and methods, medication distribution devices and carts, and the like. Mr. Weight also has experience in patent re-examination including drafting reexamination responses, and preparing invalidity documents, and reexamination requests. He has experience drafting invalidity, patentability, and freedom-to-operate opinions, and strategizes with clients to determine a best course of action. Mr. Weight's due diligence experience includes reviewing clients' IP portfolios and assisting in strategic IP planning, assisting in the sale of clients' companies, and evaluating clients' IP portfolios for the pending company purchases.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Weight was a summer associate for a large intellectual property law firm where his focus was in patent prosecution and litigation. In addition, he was previously a law clerk for a law firm in Utah where he specialized in patent prosecution and litigation. While attending Brigham Young University, Mr. Weight was a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, Golden Key National Honor Society, and Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity.
Before joining the legal profession, Mr. Weight worked as an engineering technician in the oil and gas field.
In 2020, Mr. Weight was recommended by Legal 500 US for Patent Prosecution.
