Kathryn Trent focuses her practice on labor and employment law.
Prior to joining the firm, Kathryn worked as an associate in the Atlanta, Georgia office of a southeast regional law firm. As a civil defense litigator, Kathryn focused her practice on matters related to commercial litigation, premises liability, bad faith, catastrophic injury and wrongful death, appellate litigation, and professional liability. Previously, Kathryn was an attorney in the Staff Attorney’s Office of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Atlanta, Georgia.
While attending the University of Alabama School of Law, Kathryn served as a summer honors intern in the FBI Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. and as a judicial intern for the Honorable L. Scott Coogler in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Kathryn earned CALI awards for the highest grade in Legal Writing, Bankruptcy, and Trial Advocacy. She was also a research assistant for Professor Gary Sullivan and Articles Editor of the Alabama Law Review. Kathryn won Best Advocate and was a semi-finalist in the 27th Annual Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition. She was also a semi-finalist in the 2019 Cristol, Kahn, Paskay Cup Competition.
Kathryn has basic knowledge of French.
