Andrea LaFrance focuses her practice on domestic and international trademark clearance, prosecution, and portfolio management, as well as enforcement and anti-counterfeiting measures in a variety of industries including cosmetics and skincare, health and wellness, consumer products, media and entertainment, and technology.
Andrea takes the time to understand client business objectives and risk tolerance in view of commercial realities. Andrea creates practical, budget-conscious strategies for obtaining successful outcomes, which includes securing, leveraging, and protecting intellectual property assets worldwide.
Prior to joining the firm, Andrea was an associate in the Denver, Colorado office of a national law firm where her primary practice consisted of brand management, U.S. and foreign trademark prosecution, enforcement, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board proceedings (ex parte, opposition, cancellation), intellectual property transactions, and copyright prosecution. Previously, Andrea managed the trademark practice group at a Denver-based law firm where she also litigated dozens of patent and trademark infringement cases in federal district courts and appellate courts, as well as before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
While attending law school, Andrea served as a law clerk for the Honorable Robert L. McGahey, Jr. in the 2nd Judicial District of Colorado. She was also a legal intern in the Colorado Attorney General’s office and Senior Staff Editor for the Denver University Law Review.
Andrea was recognized as a Colorado "Rising Star" in 2019, 2022 and 2023 for Intellectual Property by Super Lawyers magazine.

*Represented leading California cannabis brands in connection with executing creative state and federal prosecution strategies, successfully enforced brands against third-party infringers through state-level trademarks and registered copyrights.
*Represented privately held snack company against subsidiary of Fortune 200 company, obtaining favorable settlement.
*Defended cosmetics company in opposition proceeding and negotiated dismissal and favorable coexistence agreement.
