Twelve wooden benches were assembled for use in edible gardens and fruit orchards at three Charter Schools − Sci Academy, Kipp Renaissance and George Washington Carver High School − supporting their nutrition, sustainability and culinary arts programs.
Rain Barrels for Water Wise NOLA/Global Green
In the face of rising water prices and aging city infrastructure, water management has become a pressing issue in the Greater New Orleans area. Water Wise works with citizens to promote simple solutions to the problem of localized flooding, subsidence and poor water quality. Thirty-five rain barrels were assembled and donated to the organization for use in affected areas of New Orleans.
Pillow Case Sets With Pajamas and Books for One Heart NOLA
Sixty-five pillow case sets with a pair of pajamas and a book were assembled and donated to One Heart NOLA which serves local children and families involved in the Louisiana foster care system. One Heart NOLA provides needs such as beds to keep siblings together, household items after reunification and paying for high school senior expenses if the child turns 18 years old before finishing high school.
Scrabble® for the Boys & Girls Club of South Louisiana
Five crossword board game sets were donated to The Boys & Girls Club of South Louisiana’s four clubs − NFL-YET, Covington, Slidell, Westbank − which provide after school and summer enrichment programs to support academic success, healthy lifestyles and good citizenship for children between 6-18 years old.
Dog Blankets for St. Tammany Humane Society
Since 1952, St. Tammany, a no-kill shelter, has been providing veterinary care, fostering, and adoption homes for neglected and abandoned animals. The group created 52 blankets to comfort animals at the shelter.
