RALEIGH (February 3) -- Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that attorneys Joe Dowdy and Phillip Harris served as featured speakers at the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys (NCADA) 2016 Winter Workshop on January 29 in Durham, North Carolina.
Their presentation, “Defending Consumer Financial Services Cases,” provided an update on recent developments in consumer financial services law, as well as insights and strategies for defending financial services companies in the present social and regulatory environment.
The NCADA is an association of civil trial attorneys and paralegals organized to promote the administration of justice, and the exchange of information, ideas, and litigation techniques, and to strengthen the practice, improve the skills, and enhance the knowledge of lawyers defending individuals and business in North Carolina. Mr. Dowdy and Mr. Harris handle complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on commercial and financial services litigation, class action defense, sophisticated debt collection, unfair trade practices cases, and appellate advocacy. Their experience includes litigating cases throughout the United States, trial work, and strategic management of problem litigation for business clients. Prior to joining the firm, they practiced together in the Raleigh office of a large east coast law firm.
