Overview

Marina Zalevsky is a registered patent attorney who focuses her practice on preparation and prosecution of patent applications primarily in the areas of electronics and software. She utilizes her nearly 20 years of patent prosecution experience in a wide range of technologies including software, telecommunications, image processing, electronics, optics, medical devices, medical imaging (CT, X-ray, MRI, ultrasound, radiation), semiconductors, solid state devices, nanotechnology, displays, mobile phones, vehicle driving systems, wearables, robots, and remote medicine. In addition to patent prosecution, Marina’s practice also includes opinion work regarding patentability, clearance, infringement, validity, and enforceability.

Prior to joining the firm, Marina was of counsel in the Electrical Mechanical Practice Group of an intellectual property law firm based in Washington, D.C. where she prepared and prosecuted U.S. and foreign patent applications. Previously, Marina was a technical writer/patent agent and then an associate at an intellectual property law firm based in Cleveland, Ohio where she prepared and prosecuted U.S. patent applications.

Prior to launching her legal career, Marina, who is a native of Ukraine, had a prolonged and successful career as an Electrical Engineer in Cleveland, Ohio, at the R&D facility of one of the world's largest manufacturers of batteries, where she utilized her particular expertise in computer vision/robotics/control systems engineering and project management including production installations and technical assistance to 22 manufacturing facilities in both the U.S. and abroad.

While attending law school, Marina was a member and Editor of The Cleveland State University Law Review.

Marina was recognized as a Washington D.C. “Rising Star” in 2014 for Intellectual Property Litigation by Super Lawyers magazine.

Marina is fluent in Russian and has basic knowledge of and reading skills in Ukrainian.
