Mark Hartsell is a Senior E-Discovery Attorney with Kilpatrick Townsend’s LitSmart® E-Discovery Team. With his extensive career in legal and real estate matters, Mark brings a wide variety of expertise to e-discovery. As a member of the LitSmart® team, Mark manages arbitrations for telecommunications clients, with responsibilities that include assessing the validity and value of claims, working to resolve claims prior to arbitration, and litigating demands through the arbitration process. In addition, Mark has conducted numerous document reviews in a variety of litigation matters, including but not limited to patent protection, unfair business claims, CFPB and SEC violations, product liability claims, shareholder/director disputes, negligent construction claims, data breaches, and consumer arbitration disputes. Mark regularly assists with the management of document review teams and has experience navigating complex privilege and privilege logging issues.
Previously, Mark worked as a contract attorney at the firm where he reviewed documents for responsiveness, privilege, and confidentiality. He also assisted with deposition preparation for an extremely large and complex construction dispute. Prior to working with the firm, Mark worked in the commercial real estate industry as a broker who represented clients and landlords in lease negotiations, advised clients on site selections for new real estate projects, and counseled clients on 1031 Exchanges as well as marketing of properties. Mark also has experience with a general practice firm on matters such as civil litigation, municipal law, and foreclosures/collections.
