Overview

Jessica Garcia is a registered patent attorney who focuses her practice on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications primarily in the fields of medical and mechanical devices. She drafts claims, drawings, and other documentation for application fling; conducts disclosure interviews with inventors for establishing an understanding of the invention and identifying the important aspects for prosecution; and prepares responses to correspondence from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Jessica also conducts interviews with examiners at the USPTO for negotiating allowable subject matter for clients.

Prior to joining the firm, Jessica was an associate patent attorney at an intellectual property law firm based in San Jose, California where she prepared and prosecuted patents covering a wide range of technologies including computer-related hardware and software, network hardware and architecture, artificial intelligence, material science, mechanical engineering, and chemical engineering.

While attending Santa Clara University School of Law, Jessica served as a judicial intern in the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara. Jessica also served as a patent intern in the Munich, Germany office of a European intellectual property law firm in its Life Sciences and Chemistry Department where she studied European and PCT patent applications.
