Simon Ford is a registered patent attorney who focuses his practice on preparation and prosecution of patent applications primarily in the areas of electronics and software. He has drafted patent applications covering a wide variety of technologies, including hardware and software architecture, cloud-based multi-tenant applications, computer networks and communications systems, antivirus implementation and application, graphics processing, processor design and electronic circuits, enterprise technologies, interface development, and large-scale data management. Simon regularly drafts office action responses and implements successful appeals, and regularly performs strategic target identification, analysis, and prosecution to diversify and enhance client patent portfolios.

Simon is well-versed at planning and conducting productive and successful examiner interviews on a regular basis, is proficient in performing detailed prior art searches as well as diagram drafting, and has provided analysis and litigation support for large clients including patent infringement and validity determinations.

Prior to joining the firm, Simon was principal/partner at a boutique patent prosecution law firm based in San Jose, California where he practiced for more than 15 years and focused on strategic patent preparation, prosecution, and portfolio management while working in conjunction with in-house counsel.

While attending law school, Simon served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Aurelio Munoz in the Civil Division of the Los Angeles Superior Court and a summer intern in the Patent Division of a national full-service intellectual property law firm in its San Jose, California office.
