Albert Chen is a registered patent attorney who focuses his practice on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications primarily in the fields of medical and mechanical devices. He manages patent portfolios, drafts patent applications and conducts freedom-to-operate, patentability, and landscape studies for new commercial products. Albert also analyzes intellectual property license agreements for issues related to the transfer of intellectual property rights.

Prior to joining the firm, Albert was an associate in the New York City office of an AmLaw 100 firm where he drafted patent applications in a wide range of technologies including medical devices, blockchain, identity authentication, sports equipment, firearms, and packaging machines and films. Previously, Albert was a summer associate and then an associate in the Cranford, New Jersey office of an intellectual property law firm where he managed an international portfolio and drafted patent applications in a variety of technologies including medical devices, computer vision, virtual reality, geo-mapping, wearable technology, and biometrics.

While attending law school, Albert served as a judicial intern for the Honorable John Michael Vazquez in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey where he researched and drafted memoranda on various issues, such as contracts, class action, and trademarks. He also served as a legal intern at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in Newark, New Jersey where he cross-examined respondents in an asylum hearing under the supervision of the Assistant Chief Counsel. Albert was also a member of the Seton Hall Legislative Journal.
