Kimberly Byrd is a Senior E- Discovery Attorney with Kilpatrick Townsend’s LitSmart® E-Discovery Team. With more than seven years of litigation experience, Kimberly brings a wide variety of expertise to e-discovery. Kimberly has conducted numerous document reviews in a range of practice areas, including trademark and patent infringement, complex business litigation, financial services and due diligence, government investigations, labor and employment, cybersecurity, and data privacy. Kimberly assists in the management of document review teams, develops review protocols, conducts high level QC and privilege review, and ensures the accurate, efficient, and cost effective review of electronic documents. In addition, Kimberly develops comprehensive outlines and analysis for deposition preparation and conducts factual research for litigation matters.
Prior to joining Kilpatrick, Kimberly performed document review, quality assurance, and QC for e-discovery vendors in a variety of practice areas including financial services, securities regulation, mergers and acquisitions, government investigations, and complex commercial litigation. Previously, Kimberly was an attorney and Managing Partner at a full service law firm located in Kernersville, North Carolina where she assisted clients in a wide-range of practice areas including real property, business, contracts, education, disability rights, debt collection, and personal injury. Prior to launching her legal career, Kimberly gained experience in the construction, manufacturing services, and telecommunications industries and worked as a North Carolina Real Estate Broker. While attending law school, Kimberly served as a research assistant for Professor Ahmed Taha. She was also a Staff Member of the Wake Forest Journal of Law and Policy from 2011-2012 and an Articles Editor of the Wake Forest Journal of Law and Policy from 2012-2013.
