Eric Berardi is the Team Leader for the Real Estate Finance and Capital Markets team at the Firm. He focuses his practice on the representation of financial institutions, debt funds and loan servicers in connection with the acquisition, modification and resolution of distressed commercial real estate loans, including the pursuit of foreclosure, deed-in-lieu of foreclosure and receivership remedies. Additionally, Mr. Berardi represents a variety of companies on the disposition of hotel, office, retail and multifamily housing properties across the United States.
Experience
Represented a special servicer on an A/B loan modification for a $127,440,000 CMBS loan secured by an office tower in Chicago.
Represented a federal receiver and CMBS special servicer on the sales of 6 franchised hotels in 5 states for $52 million in the aggregate in satisfaction of a specially-serviced CMBS loan.
Represented a joint venture on the sale of a portfolio of apartment complexes in Georgia for $106 million, with a portion of the purchase price based on the assumption of the 3 existing Freddie Mac loans.
Represented an institutional equity fund on the sale of a $147 million office building in California.
Represented an institutional debt fund on the acquisition of a portfolio of 22 loans with a principal balance of $153 million secured by 26 hotels and movie theatres across 11 states.
Represented a special servicer on the restructuring of a $29 million co-op loan secured by a co-op in Brooklyn, New York.
Represented an institutional equity fund on the sale of a $130 million office building in Connecticut, with a portion of the sales price based on the assumption of the existing CMBS loan.
Represented an institutional equity fund on the sale of a $214 million apartment complex in California.
Represented an institutional debt fund on the acquisition of a $41 million mezzanine loan secured by a hotel in New York City.
Represented a special servicer on a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure for a unionized New York City hotel securing a $92,500,000 CMBS loan.
Represented an institutional equity fund on the sale of a $43 million single tenant office building in New Jersey.
Represented an institutional equity fund on the sale of a $149 million apartment complex in Florida.
Represented a publicly traded REIT in connection with the sales of over 80 conventional and affordable multifamily residential properties nationwide over a two year period.
