Insights: News Partner Adria Perez to Present CLE on International White Collar in Latin America
ATLANTA (February 27) – Kilpatrick Townsend announced that Partner Adria Perez will be presenting a CLE session on 'International White Collar in Latin America' during the American Bar Association Criminal Justice Section’s 38th National Institute on White Collar Crime on March 1, 2023, at 4:15 pm ET. The event is in-person at the Hyatt Regency Miami.
Ms. Perez will be joined by other distinguished panelists—including Manuel Beccar Varela, Honorable Germán C. Garavano, Professor Lucian E. Dervan, Ludmila Groch, and Bruce Swartz—to share insights on the focus that has rested on international white-collar crime in Latin America since the launch of Operation Car Wash in 2014. As cross-border law enforcement investigations from the United States and other countries continue to build and develop in the region, Ms. Perez and the other panelists will examine current trends, enforcement priorities, and what to watch for next.
Ms. Perez is a member of the Government Enforcement & Investigations Team and serves as co-leader of the firm’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Practice. She focuses her practice on representing both corporations and individuals in white collar criminal defense matters, government enforcement issues, as well as internal, criminal and SEC investigations. Her experience includes handling issues relating to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, commercial bribery, False Claims Act (including government contracting, healthcare and tax matters), environmental crimes and Civil Investigative Demands.
Ms. Perez assists clients in responding to inquiries from and government investigations conducted by the DOJ, SEC, OCC and Office of Inspector General from a variety of federal agencies. She also counsels clients on developing and strengthening compliance programs and policies.
