Insights: News Releases Kilpatrick Townsend Adds Attorneys to Litigation Team

ATLANTA (December 29) Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton welcomes eight attorneys to the firm’s Litigation Department.

  • Kurtis Anderson joins the Complex Commercial Litigation Team as an Associate in Atlanta. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a law clerk for the Hon. Justice Michael P. Boggs at the Georgia Supreme Court. Previously, he was an Assistant Attorney General serving as an Honors Fellow in the Solicitor General's Office of the State of Georgia Office of the Attorney General. Mr. Anderson also served as law clerk for the Hon. Nels S.D. Peterson at the Georgia Supreme Court. He earned his J.D., high honors, and LL.M. from Emory University School of Law. Mr. Anderson received his M.A. in European Intellectual History from Emory University Laney Graduate School and his B.A. in History and Political Science from Emory University.
  • Jennifer Cotton joins the Complex Commercial Litigation Team as an Associate in Atlanta. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Lisa Godbey Wood in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. Previously, Ms. Cotton was a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Michele J. Kim in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Georgia. She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law and received her B.A. in Philosophy with Minors in Law & Society and French, cum laude, from New York University.
  • Katherine “Kate” Klein joins the Government Enforcement & Investigations Team as an Associate in Atlanta. She focuses her practice on internal investigations, compliance, and white collar criminal defense. After graduating from Rhodes College, Ms. Klein taught English on a Fulbright fellowship in Jinmen, Taiwan. She then completed a master’s degree at the London School of Economics. Upon returning to the U.S., she worked as an Advocacy Coordinator for the ACLU of Mississippi, focusing primarily on free speech protection, anti-discrimination matters, and voting rights. Ms. Klein earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. 
  • Ami Patel joins the Complex Commercial Litigation Team as an Associate in Raleigh. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Patel served as law clerk to the Hon. Gregory P. McGuire in the North Carolina Business Court. she earned her J.D., cum laude, from the American University Washington College of Law. Ms. Patel received her B.A. in Global Studies and Political Science, Minor in Arabic, from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
  • John Robinson joins the Complex Commercial Litigation Team as an Associate in Dallas. Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate in the Fort Worth office of a Texas-based law firm. Mr. Robinson earned his J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law. While in law school, he served as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Craig Stoddart in the State of Texas Fifth Court of Appeals. Mr. Robinson received his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
  • Brad Sears joins the Complex Commercial Litigation Team as an Associate in Atlanta. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Sears served as a law clerk to the Hon. Andrew S. Oldham of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Previously, he was named one of two Phillips Fellows with the U.S. Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) in Washington, D.C. Mr. Sears earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was a Karsh-Dillard Scholar and served on the Managing Board of the Law Review. He received his B.A. in Philosophy, Minor in Management, summa cum laude, from Brigham Young University.
  • Brianna Taylor joins the Litigation Department as an Associate in Atlanta. Prior to joining the firm, she was a judicial clerk for the Hon. Harold Murphy in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Ms. Taylor earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law and her B.A. in Political Science from Vassar College.
  • Callie Thomas joins the Government Enforcement & Investigations Team as a Team Attorney in Raleigh. She focuses her practice on internal investigations, compliance, and white collar criminal defense. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Thomas was a law clerk for the Hon. Robert E. Wier in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. She served as a Legal Fellow in the Office of the Public Defender in Arlington, Virginia. Ms. Thomas earned her J.D. from Duke University School of Law. She received her M.S. in Accountancy from the University of Houston and her B.S. in Accounting and B.A. in Spanish from the University of Kentucky.
