Insights: News Kilpatrick Townsend Adds Labor & Employment Attorney to Atlanta Office

ATLANTA (January 28) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of Leah M. Farmer as an associate in the firm’s Atlanta office. She joins the Labor & Employment Team in the firm’s Litigation Department. 

*Ms. Farmer joins Kilpatrick Townsend after practicing with an international law firm in Chicago. She advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. Ms. Farmer has experience counseling clients in several employment law areas including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA); The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA); The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); predictive scheduling ordinances and laws; drug testing and policies; and, federal, state and local paid sick leave laws. 

Ms. Farmer has particular experience in conducting investigations and preparing fact finding reports related to a variety of internal employment related complaints and external compliance related matters; handling all stages of pre-trial litigation to defend employers against actions filed in state and federal court; reviewing policies, procedures, and handbooks for compliance with state and federal employment laws; as well as, analyzing restrictive covenants and preparing risk assessments for employers. Additionally, she conducts confidential internal investigations involving allegations of employee misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and/or noncompliance with federal or state requirements.

Ms. Farmer is a graduate of the University of Georgia, and earned her law degree, cum laude, at DePaul University College of Law.
