ATLANTA (September 17) – Corporate Volunteer Council of Atlanta (CVC) awarded Kilpatrick Townsend with the Skills-Based Volunteerism IMPACT Award at the 21st Annual IMPACT Awards. The firm was selected for its "multi-faceted partnership with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF) and Barack and Michelle Obama Academy (BAMO). This is the firm’s fourth CVC award.

This Skills-Based Volunteerism IMPACT Award is presented for skills-based volunteer projects that have significant, measurable results. Kilpatrick Townsend partnered with the AVLF at the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year to resolve legal issues for families of students at BAMO. Over the course of the school year, the firm was able to successfully represent 10 households undergoing legal disputes that would have had an adverse impact on their housing situations. Additionally, volunteers from the firm took part in a number of enrichment initiatives at the school that sought to enhance the students’ literacy and STEM background, beautify the school, and support teachers and families.

The CVC delivers business results by supporting members in their strategic commitment to workplace volunteerism and civic engagement. Since 1992, the CVC of Atlanta has been bringing together business professionals who are passionate about volunteerism so that they may share best practices, strengthen community investment strategies, and make a difference through service.
