Patrick Pascarella Joins Firm’s Washington, DC Office

WASHINGTON DC (August 6) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of Patrick Pascarella to the firm’s Washington, DC office as a partner on the firm’s internationally recognized Antitrust & Trade Regulation Practice.

Mr. Pascarella’s experience ranges from antitrust litigation to representing clients before enforcement and regulatory agencies in the U.S. as well as Mexico, Colombia, and other Latin American countries. In addition to his law firm experience, Mr. Pascarella has served as a government antitrust enforcer as well as in-house antitrust counsel at a Fortune 10 company.  He has counseled clients in a variety of industries including telecommunications, content and media, e-commerce, publishing, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, sports, cement, weapon systems, and ice cream.

“Pat can offer our clients a uniquely well-rounded perspective on highly sophisticated antitrust matters,” said Pete Boyle, Chair of Kilpatrick Townsend’s Antitrust Practice. “He brings to the table a very rare combination -- an unparalleled knowledge of the substantive antitrust laws and an ability to view a matter through multiple lenses.  Pat can relate to the challenges faced by in-house antitrust counsel but also knows how enforcers and private litigants will approach a matter as well.  We are very excited to welcome Pat to our team.”

Early in his career Mr. Pascarella served with the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).  While at the DOJ, he oversaw merger reviews, litigation, and investigations including the investigation that led to the prosecution of the NASDAQ market makers.  He also was the DOJ liaison with the Federal Communications Commission on competition law and economic issues. Mr. Pascarella later served as Chief Antitrust Counsel at AT&T.

“Kilpatrick Townsend has a long history of providing outstanding service in the antitrust arena and has been on the leading edge of significant issues facing corporate America,” said Pat Pascarella. “The firm’s expansive platform also permits us to provide clients with a broad menu of first tier services such as intellectual property and corporate capabilities. I am very pleased to be joining this team.”

During his career, Mr. Pascarella has represented clients in landmark antitrust cases including Pacific Bell v. linkLine Communications, Bell Atlantic Corp. v. Twombly, and State of New York et al. v. Microsoft Corporation.  He also defended some of the largest mergers in recent years and designed pre-merger planning processes that enabled clients to expedite the capture of merger-related synergies. Mr. Pascarella also assists clients in various regulatory and legislative arenas.

Mr. Pascarella earned his J.D., with honors, from The National Law Center at George Washington University and his B.A., with high honors, from Ohio State University.
