ATLANTA (May 29) -- Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that Partner Adria Perez was named a 2018 Women Making a Mark honoree by Atlanta Magazine. A reception and awards luncheon will be held for honorees on Friday, June 8, at the Mandarin Oriental in Atlanta.
In its ninth year, Atlanta Magazine’s Women Making A Mark program strives to recognize women in Atlanta who are doing extraordinary work in our community. Women Making A Mark honorees represent a diverse group of women from corporate, legal, medical, educational, and nonprofit sectors across our city. Honorees are committed to their professions and their community. They exhibit tireless dedication, strong leadership, and impassioned goodwill.
Ms. Perez was recognized not only for her extremely successful legal career, but also for her volunteer work, which has impacted lives through numerous communities. She co-founded the Georgia Latino Law Foundation (GLLF), which works to increase diversity in the legal profession by supporting the Latino legal community pipeline. In addition, GLLF seeks to increase the Latino community’s access to the legal system by educating and empowering Latinos to join the legal community. Ms. Perez also led the taskforce to start ToolBank USA. Today, ToolBankUSA has nine toolbanks throughout the country and a mobile unit that provides disaster relief services. She is also on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.
Ms. Perez focuses her practice on representing both corporations and individuals in white collar criminal defense matters, government enforcement issues, as well as internal, criminal and SEC investigations. Her experience includes handling issues relating to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, False Claims Act (including government contracting, healthcare and tax matters), Civil Investigative Demands and export enforcement. Ms. Perez assists clients in responding to inquiries from and government investigations conducted by the DOJ, SEC, OCC and Office of Inspector General from a variety of federal agencies. She also counsels clients on developing and strengthening compliance programs and policies.
