Insights: News Releases Kilpatrick Townsend’s Sarah Lowe Elected to the St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School Board of Trustees
ATLANTA (May 10) -- Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that partner Sarah Lowe was recently elected to the St. Andrews-Sewanee School (SAS) Board of Trustees for the term of 2017 – 2020.
SAS is an independent, non-profit, educational institution. The school is governed by the Board of Trustees comprised of 21 elected members with responsibility for policy-making and sound management as put forth in the school's by-laws. Trustees serve a three-year term. The Head of School, the President and Vice President of the Parents' Council, the President and Vice-President of the Alumni Council, the Bishop of the Diocese of Tennessee, and a member elected by the faculty serve as ex-officio Trustees. The Head of School serves as the chief executive officer of the school.
SAS is a private, coeducation, Episcopal, day and boarding, college preparatory school. Located on a beautifully wooded and historic campus high atop the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee, SAS offers students in grades 6-12 an innovative curriculum presented by a creative and engaged faculty who are dedicated to cultivating well-rounded and thoughtful human beings.

Ms. Lowe focuses her practice on employee benefits, with an emphasis in the areas of qualified plans, related ERISA fiduciary issues and pension plan investments. She regularly reviews and negotiates provisions of pension plan investments on behalf of large pension funds, including hedge funds and other alternative investments. Ms. Lowe also routinely assists structuring private investment funds and their portfolio investments so that they avoid being subject to ERISA fiduciary rules. As part of her practice, she regularly advises clients on compliance with ERISA's rules regarding fiduciary duties and prohibited transactions.
