LOS ANGELES (April 26) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that partner Mary Craig Calkins was named one of Los Angeles Business Journal’s (LABJ) Most Influential Women Lawyers. The LABJ selected only 50 “particularly stellar attorneys in the Los Angeles region who happen to be women,” and highlighted the recent success of each their practices.

Ms. Calkins was selected for handling a broad range of high-profile insurance coverage disputes, helping her clients recover hundreds of millions of dollars through the negotiation, litigation, trial, and arbitration of complex insurance coverage disputes. She is currently handling major coverage litigation in California and North Carolina, negotiating matters in New York and Delaware involving more than $250 million in insurance coverage, and handling insurance coverage matters implicating the laws of multiple states and foreign countries.

Ms. Calkins heads Kilpatrick Townsend’s West Coast Insurance Recovery practice, and has more than 30 years of experience handling and litigating all aspects of insurance recovery for policyholders in complex and high-value matters. She has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for companies and individuals under directors and officers liability, cyber, management liability and professional errors and omissions policies, and has facilitated settlement of some of the most complicated directors and officers liability issues in the country.

Ms. Calkins is currently the President of the American College of Coverage & Extracontractual Counsel, which is comprised of the preeminent coverage and bad faith counsel in the United States and Canada representing the interests of both insurers and policyholders. She is also active in American Bar Association (“ABA”) and ABA Section of Litigation leadership nationally.
