Insights: News Releases Kilpatrick Townsend's Mark Stember Featured Moderator on Fiduciary Issues and Data Privacy

WASHINGTON, DC (February 11) Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that Partner Mark Stember will serve as the Moderator at the Fiduciary Issues and Data Privacy webinar hosted by the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Joint Committee on Employee Benefits (JCEB). The program will be held on Thursday, February 18, from 1:00 - 2:00 pm ET.

This webinar will address privacy and data security issues relevant to ERISA fiduciaries, including obligations to respond and investigate a data breach, duties to notify under HIPAA and related state data breach notification laws, the practicalities of responding to employee concerns and data privacy considerations when selecting and contracting with vendors. Mr. Stember concentrates his practice on counseling clients on the tax and related aspects of health and welfare benefits, flexible compensation, fringe benefits, executive compensation, and qualified retirement plans. He has counseled both private and public clients regarding health and welfare plans, cafeteria plans, fringe benefit plans, such as adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, executive split dollar life insurance plans and section 401(k) and pension plans. Mr. Stember is the Co-Chair of the ABA’s Annual JCEB Health and Welfare Symposium held in Washington, D.C. each October.
