Insights: News Releases Kilpatrick Townsend Names Jon Michaelson Managing Partner of Silicon Valley Office
MENLO PARK (October 26) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that it has named Jon Michaelson as the new Managing Partner of the firm’s Silicon Valley office in Menlo Park, California. Mr. Michaelson succeeds Craig Largent, Ph.D. who served as Silicon Valley office managing partner since January 2015. Dr. Largent was recently named the Co-Team Leader of Kilpatrick Townsend's Electrical Engineering & Software Team and will continue to provide IP counseling and investment diligence for the firm’s electronics and software clients.

Mr. Michaelson has practiced law in Silicon Valley for more than three decades. He acts as trial counsel in cases which span a wide variety of disciplines, including all forms of intellectual property, employment law, class actions, competition issues, and complex commercial controversies. He has particular experience in the fields of semiconductor design and manufacture, electronic components, business application and entertainment software, video games, broadcast equipment, and ecommerce.
Mr. Michaelson actively participates in various civic organizations in Silicon Valley, including more than 15 years as a member of the Board of Directors and Legal Counsel to the Santa Clara County Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He currently serves as a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee on Finance for the Los Altos School District.
Mr. Michaelson earned his J.D. from the University of California Berkeley School of Law, his M.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, and his B.A. from Pomona College.
