WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 16) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of Poqueen Rivera to the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Ms. Rivera joins the firm as a Government Relations Advisor.

Ms. Rivera is an enrolled member of the Pueblo of Pojoaque in New Mexico. She advises clients on matters of public policy with a focus on Native American affairs. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Rivera was a policy coordinator for the All Pueblo Council of Governors (APCG), a historical leadership council comprised of twenty Pueblo Governors in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Ms. Rivera provided policy support to the APCG and served as the Council’s primary liaison to the New Mexico state government and the federal government.

Ms. Rivera received her B.A. in Native American Studies, with a minor in Political Science, from the University of New Mexico. While attending the University of New Mexico, she served as an intern through the Fred Harris Congressional Internship Program to Congressman Ben Ray Lujan (NM-03) in Washington, D.C. While in Congressman Lujan’s office, Ms. Rivera assisted on Tribal issues and on constituent services. Ms. Rivera was also an intern in the Albuquerque, New Mexico office of a medical malpractice law firm and served as an intern to Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM-01) in both Albuquerque, New Mexico and Washington, D.C. While in Congresswoman Grisham’s office, Ms. Rivera was tasked with outreach to the New Mexico’s tribal nations on behalf of the office. In addition, she also planned constituent events and served as a casework liaison to Congresswoman Grisham’s constituents.
