John Jett represents individuals and companies in a wide variety of complex commercial litigation in state and federal court. He focuses his practice on retail and technology clients ranging from established Fortune 500 companies to dynamic mid-sized franchisors to high-growth startups. While representing plaintiffs, he has recovered millions of dollars on behalf of deserving businesses and businesspeople. In defending commercial litigation, he has defeated numerous major claims, often through dismissals or summary judgments.
Mr. Jett has served as first chair at trial, arbitration, and on appeal. Many of his cases have presented complicated contractual issues, including disputes about restrictive covenants, easements, leases, and license agreements, to name but a few examples. He is likewise experienced in business tort cases, having litigated significant claims arising under state and federal statutes, as well as common law claims such as breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, and tortious interference.
Mr. Jett has devoted many hundreds of hours to the firm's pro bono efforts. He has represented charitable organizations and indigent persons in proceedings across Georgia in matters ranging from federal civil rights to DUI defense. Mr. Jett is also involved in the bar and the community. He volunteers with the Anti-Defamation League and the Georgia Natural Resources Foundation. He is a 2010 graduate of the State Bar of Georgia's Younger Lawyers Division's Leadership Academy, a 2014 graduate of the Anti-Defamation League’s Glass Leadership Program, and is a past co-chair of the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Georgia's Younger Lawyers Division. He serves on the executive boards of the Atlanta chapters of the Federalist Society and Federal Bar Association.
