Insights: News Releases Kilpatrick Townsend’s Kandace Watson Named One of San Diego Daily Transcript’s Top Attorneys
SAN DIEGO (June 25) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that partner Kandace Watson, head of Kilpatrick Townsend's Patent and Technology License Practice in the Southwestern United States, was named one of San Diego Daily Transcript’s 2015 Top Attorneys in the publication's annual Top Attorneys special report.
The Daily Transcript’s Top Attorneys special report pays tribute to San Diego County’s legal cream of the crop. It is the culmination of a lengthy peer voting process that began in April, and generated over 1,200 nominations. This tribute further exemplifies Ms. Watson’s recognition by the legal community as a distinguished and influential leader, committed to San Diego.
Ms. Watson has extensive experience representing companies in complex transactions, in numerous industries, with an emphasis on biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, chemicals, technology and food and beverage companies. She has successfully secured patent license and purchase agreements, as well as developed non-licensing strategies, against Non-Practicing Entities (NPEs), commonly known as patent trolls.
Corporate boards and executives seek Ms. Watson's leadership to structure and close complex transactions, comply with federal and state regulations, and expand operations globally. Ms. Watson also advises corporate boards and executives regarding corporate governance, strategic planning, and ongoing operations. Structuring joint ventures between majority and minority-owned businesses is among her specialties.
