Insights: News Releases Kilpatrick Townsend’s Yendelela Neely Anderson Elected Vice-Chair of the Local Workforce Investment Board for the Atlanta Workforce Development Agency
ATLANTA (May 19) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that Partner Yendelela Neely Anderson was elected to serve as Vice-Chair of the Local Workforce Investment Board for the Atlanta Workforce Development Agency (AWDA). Ms. Anderson was appointed to the AWDA by Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed in February.
The AWDA was created under the federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998, reauthorized as the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act in 2014. The Board is comprised of individuals representing business, economic development, housing and urban development, senior community service, vocational rehabilitation, organized labor, and community-based organizations. In accordance with federal law, members of the Board are appointed by the Mayor of Atlanta and serve for two-year terms.
