Insights: News Releases Kilpatrick Townsend’s Yendelela Neely Anderson Named One of Atlanta’s “40 Under 40”
ATLANTA (November 13) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that Partner Yendelela Neely Anderson has been named one of Atlanta’s “40 Under 40” by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 40 Under 40 honors young leaders who have made significant career achievements during the past year and who have substantial involvement in community service outside of their day-to-day job performance. This year, the Atlanta Business Chronicle received nearly 600 nominations, which were evaluated by 20 former 40 Under 40 honorees.
Ms. Anderson was selected for this prestigious honor for not only exceling in her work as an attorney in the areas of labor and employment, but for also putting as much effort into bettering her community as she does into building her practice. Ms. Anderson is chair of the advisory board of the Atlanta chapter of literacy organization Jumpstart, vice-chair of the Local Workforce Investment Board for the Atlanta Workforce Development Agency, and a member of the board of directors of Families First and the Atlanta Legal Aid Society.
Ms. Anderson litigates and counsels clients in the areas of employment discrimination, occupational safety and health, wage and hour, background checks and credit reporting. She advises her clients through all aspects of the employment relationship, including policy creation and implementation, resolution of difficult employment issues, and development of strategies to avoid employment disputes. Ms. Anderson understands that a critical part of helping clients address employment issues is understanding the clients' business structure, values, and aspirations.
Ms. Anderson is a member of the firm's Pro Bono Committee. In 2014, she was honored by the National Bar Association with its Trailblazers Under 40 Award. Ms. Anderson was named a 40 under Forty Rising Star in 2014 by the Daily Report. She was also named to "Lawyers of Color's Hot List" in 2014. Ms. Anderson was honored with the 2015 Anti-Defamation League (ADL) Young Lawyer Award for going above and beyond her legal practice in furtherance of ADL’s mission.
