Insights: News Releases Kilpatrick Townsend Adds Attorney Joseph Tipograph to Firm’s Washington, DC Office
WASHINGTON, DC (November 5) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of Joseph Tipograph to the firm’s Washington, DC office. Mr. Tipograph joins the firm as an associate on the Government Enforcement & Investigations Team, with a focus on antitrust, in the firm’s Litigation Department.
Mr. Tipograph focuses his practice on antitrust litigation and counseling matters. He has experience litigating private treble damages actions under both federal and state antitrust laws. Mr. Tipograph also has experience representing companies in connection with government investigations, including compliance with voluntary information requests and Civil Investigative Demands related to consumer protection, antitrust and unfair competition issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Tipograph helped launch The Capitol Forum, a subscription-based publication that reports and provides analysis on policy, legal and regulatory developments, primarily for merger arbitrage funds, hedge funds and other institutional investors. Previously, he was an antitrust associate in the Washington, D.C. office of an international law firm where he represented clients in mergers, government investigations, and litigation matters. Mr. Tipograph also worked as a white collar criminal attorney in the Washington, D.C. office of a national law firm where he defended a former Fortune 500 company chief executive officer in a Department of Justice criminal prosecution and counseled a municipal agency in a political corruption probe conducted by a state district attorney.
Mr. Tipograph earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law. While attending law school, Mr. Tipograph served as a law clerk in the Bureau of Consumer Protection of the Federal Trade Commission in Atlanta, Georgia where he investigated a debt negotiation company for violation of federal consumer protection laws. Mr. Tipograph earned an M.B.A. from Emory University Goizueta Business School. He received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan.
