Richard Haygood's practice includes representing companies in all facets of labor relations, including organizing campaigns, strike preparation, unfair labor practice proceedings, arbitrations and contract negotiations. Recently, he has assisted companies across the country in preparing comprehensive union avoidance strategies, including representing a major consumer products company in union avoidance efforts at its largest non-union locations. He regularly trains executives, managers, and supervisors in labor relations matters and union avoidance.
Mr. Haygood also assists client in strategic employment initiatives, including the preparation of executive employment, retention, change of control, and severance agreements. Mr. Haygood regularly assists clients in analyzing the labor and employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions, and prepares non-competition, non-solicitation confidentiality agreements required in those transactions. He also regularly advises clients in the development and implementation of workforce reduction initiatives.
Mr. Haygood has successfully litigated cases in federal and state courts across the country. He has obtained summary judgment for clients in cases involving alleged discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful discharge.
In 2012, Mr. Haygood was recognized as a "Mover & Shaker" by Business Leader Magazine.
