RALEIGH (November 30) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the creation of the Gary K. Joyner Memorial Scholarship Fund honoring former Raleigh Office Managing Partner Gary Joyner’s legacy.

“Gary Joyner was a generous kind-hearted man who believed in supporting the community,” said Ford Robertson, Raleigh Office Managing Partner. “He saw the good in people – and his servant-leader mentality was evident in his 25 years of service to the Boys & Girls Club of Wake County.”

The Gary K. Joyner Memorial Scholarship Fund partners with the Boys & Girls Club of Wake County to provide college scholarships to deserving, yet underprivileged youth.

Beginning in 2018, the Gary K. Joyner Memorial Scholarship will be awarded annually in conjunction with the Boys & Gils Club’s Annual Youth of the Year competition. Criteria for selection includes academic achievement, leadership, and community engagement – all qualities Mr. Joyner exemplified.

On November 18, Kilpatrick Townsend sponsored a Day of Service at the Boys & Girls Club of Wake County to raise funds and awareness for the Gary K. Joyner Memorial Scholarship. The Day of Service included participating in the club’s “Soccer for Success” league, reviewing written materials and critiquing oral presentations of club members in the Youth of the Year program, and helping landscape the club’s grounds.
