Founded in 1945 to provide relief to survivors of World War II, CARE is one of the world’s largest private international humanitarian organizations, dedicated to fighting global poverty. Since 2005, Kilpatrick Townsend attorneys and staff have contributed more than $293,000 to support CARE’s work to help those affected by natural disasters such as Typhoon Haiyan, the South Asian tsunami and the earthquake in Haiti. In addition, the Firm has also provided extensive pro bono support for CARE over the past several years. Between 2011 and 2013, the Firm provided almost 700 hours of pro bono work to CARE, valued at more than $350,000. On September 10, 2013 Helene Gayle, the CEO of CARE USA presented Kilpatrick Townsend with CARE’s Pro Bono Firm of the Year Award and we recently received a personalized thank you video from CARE USA thanking the Firm for our generous support to CARE’s relief efforts in the Philippines.
